APT was launched in the summer of 2013 by CEO – Gareth Jones. With a passion and background in Health & Safety, and a brilliant idea to shake up the current market with innovative training and bringing only the very best trainers on board to educate and inspire people on courses.

From very humble beginnings – just a mobile phone and a kitchen table, and a clear vision…


After a strong first year, the decision was made to move into the very first APT Offices & Training Facility at the Bridge Centre, Birches Head, Stoke on Trent. Due to the success, more investments were made in 2014 to obtain IOSH & CITB Learning Partner Status to really put the company on the map.

Later in the year, there was a growing demand for a Consultancy arm of the business, so in October – Gareth launched APT Consultancy to add to the portfolio. A real game changer for the business…


Yet again, we saw exponential growth as a business, it was already time to move into bigger and better offices again – we decided to stay at the Bridge Centre, but occupied a much bigger part, as the demand for more training rooms was calling from our customers! More specialist Trainers were employed to cope with the demand, as well as 4 more back-office staff to support customers.


What a year for APT! We quickly outgrew the Bridge Centre again and moved into our new home – Wood House in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. 4 more Training Specialists joined the family. Also, brought on board a new Account Manager to help with the constant new business requests and to look after the existing customers.
That’s not all for 2016…A need was identified to support our customers further through Apprenticeships, we applied and won our RoATP status and APT Apprenticeships was born! To date, APT is the only H&S training provider to obtain this accolade within a 25-mile radius, something we are very proud of!


A year of internal growth for APT – We invested heavily into new accreditations such as ECITB, NEBOSH & QNUK accreditations, growing our portfolio of courses we can offer once again. Thanks to the amazing Account Management Department for working with existing and new customers on their individual needs.


The Team keeps on growing and growing – more staff, more Training Specialists, new vehicles, and a plethora of new training equipment to ensure we are at the forefront of our training requirements for our customers. We finished the year with a ATO of £1.3 million…Wow! No sign of stopping Team APT!


 Onwards and upwards for Team APT! We became one of the largest suppliers of IOSH H&S training courses in Staffordshire and started to branch out further afield to cover the rest of the UK. We also entered the top 10 learning providers of H&S within the UK this year! Outstanding Effort!

We were doing so well; the time had come once again to move offices, to meet the further demand. The hunt was on for a standalone, purpose-built training Centre. Our new and current home is based at Lake View, Festival Park, Stoke-On-Trent, where we continue to be the leading training provider across Staffordshire for all aspects of Health & Safety Training Courses. Superb…


A very sad and tough year for APT and the rest of the world – COVID-19 hit in March of this year like no-one has seen in their lifetime; we were forced to close for 3 months; however, we were very lucky as a business to be able to keep all staff in employment, with no redundancies. We spent those 3 months when we were closed, adjusting our business to be able to offer Webinar Courses for key workers to help minimize the impact on businesses across the UK.

Our Team felt privileged to be able to help our key workers in such a worrying and difficult time…


APT was very fortunate to be able to launch 2 new parts of the business and help us with the vision of becoming a ‘One Stop Shop’ for all our customers – APT Workwear and APT HR were born. The Account Management, Administration & Marketing Departments doubled in size with new staff. We think it’s very important for our staff to have a fun and great place to work, with an eye on moving us forward, so we invested in Perkpal Employee Benefits Scheme for all staff in recognition of their fantastic contribution to our customers.

The time came to push the boundaries even further as a business, a Senior Leadership Team re-shuffle brought Paul Bailey – Customer Engagement Director & Jon Taylor – Group Director to the Team, adding both strength and versatility to the vision.

The future is looking very bright for APT…
